I was really hyped up for this line. I have sensitive skin and lots of PIE, and licorice is supposed to help with redness and has brightening properties. Ingredients-wise, this seems like a superb product. Unfortunately the packaging is horrendous. I don't usually pay attention to skincare packaging at all, - tubes, jars, droppers, pumps, all good, - but this one really stands out. You have to twist the cap until the lid goes up, then you twist some more and take out the dropper, and then you have to push the top lid to get the product out. That lid is also kind of stiff, and you can't control neither how much product the dropper picks up, nor the amount it squirts into your palm at full force. Some people use a couple of drops for their face, others use a full dropper or two, but I guess in this case the brand already decided the right amount for everyone. I'm lucky it does pick up only 1/4 of the dropper, not a full one, but if you want to use more, you have to close the cap all the way and open it again. As for the serum itself, it's a clear viscous liquid, which is pretty hydrating and absorbs without stickiness. It is unicorn tears for your face? No. It's just a hydrating serum, I've tried lots of similar ones over the years, and this one doesn't stand out to me at all. I will continue to use this product, but as of now I'm not impressed. This brand has several popular products, like their mugwort essence and rice toner, but I feel like they've been kind of stuggling with new releases. They clearly want to do something different, and while it was a great idea to make a licorice line, this design choice is questionable at the least.
