General Information
Due to the fluctuations of the exchange rate, orders with value very close to the tax-free limit may be assessed Duties and Taxes (D&T) as the currency exchange rate may vary from the order date to the customs clearance date.
Please check with your local customs office in Japan to see if you can import the items, and if any additional licenses or permits are needed.

If your order value exceeds 16,000 JPY, you will be charged for Customs duty and taxes.
If you plan to use Rewards credits, the value of the order (before Rewards credits are applied) needs to be less than ¥ 16,000 to avoid Customs fees.
iHerb will not be liable for packages held or confiscated by customs.
Shipping
The Estimated Delivery window provided by iHerb reflects the most standard delivery. However, some orders may occasionally be subject to longer transit time caused by air freight delay, Customs hold, or any other unforeseen complications outside of iHerb’s control.
You may have to pay import taxes and customs fees for your order. These charges are separate from your shipping fee, and you will be billed directly from the carrier of your choice.

Restrictions
At iHerb, we respect the rules and regulations of Japanese government and do our best to block Customs prohibited products from our site.
Prohibited: Please be aware that the following substances are prohibited to import to Japan: kelp, hoodia, aloe, (except aloe vera), vanilla, rice, grains, nuts, seeds, raw beans, products containing hemp, orchid, pet products, meat products (such as jerky and extracts), dairy products, DHEA products and edible or drinkable products that contain Atenolol, Atomoxetine, Adrafinil, Aniracetam, Etiracetam, Oxiracetam, Dihydroergotoxine Mesilate, Somatropin, Vasopressin Tannate, Tianeptine, Desmopressin Acetate Hydrate, Nadolol, Nicergoline, Nimodipine, Nefiracetam, Vinpocetine, Piracetam, Furosemide, Bromocriotine Mesilate, Pramiracetam, Pregnenolone, Propranolol Hydrochloride, Levetiracetam.
Limitations:
There is an exception to the 'kelp' rule: The only kelp product allowed in Japan is the following item with one condition: Sea Tangle Noodle Company, Kelp Noodles, 12 oz. (340 g); (Customers are only allowed to order up to 5 kg. of this product per month, which equals about 14 bags.)
22 lbs (10 kg) or less grocery/food items (including Supplements and protein drinks) per order, are allowed for personal importation.
Estrogen (supplement), 7-Keto/7-Keto DHEA can be imported only a one-month supply at a time.
The following products or ingredients can be imported, but only a two-month supply: Melatonin, Yohimbe, Potassium Iodine/Iodide, 5-HTP, Caffeine and Taurine, Ashwagandha. If one bottle contains more than a two-month supply or multiple bottles are purchased, the items will be confiscated by customs.
Cosmetic products including shampoo and conditioner are allowed to be imported, but only up to 24 items.
Duties and taxes will be imposed by Japan Customs on any sugar/sweetener products (maple syrup and agave nectar included) regardless of weight or item value. If total weight of sugar/sweetener product(s) per order exceeds 2 lbs (1 kg), duties and taxes will be imposed and additional documentation process will be required by the Japan Customs. Orders exceeding 16,000 JPY will incur an extra Custom's duty of 25.5% for raw honey products and 50% for artificial honey products.
Customs inspection may cause a clearance delay if your order includes above products.
